The Central Bureau of Investigation has booked a former Deputy Director of the Enforcement Directorate for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets estimated at Rs. 1.54 crore.

The parent organisation of the accused, Gurnam Singh, is the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Chandigarh. He joined the ED on deputation and had been with the agency from March 2012 to January 2017, following which he was repatriated.

“During his tenure as Deputy Director, Enforcement Directorate, he amassed huge properties/amount through corrupt illegal means and as benami properties,” the FIR says.
